A recent blog post by Turn 10 studios, makers of Forza Motorsport 3, provides some very useful details as to the latest patch that has just hit the streets.  The next time you logg onto Xbox Live with Forza Motorsport 3, you'll be prompted with an update.  The update features the following:

  • Fixes to all known glitches,
  • The addition of a driver shift cockpit view animations,
  • Fixes for all know Time Trial Leaderboad exploits/bugs.

Further, the update also adds the new "Playground" category that will be used to host alternative game types such as tag and other modes such as "Keep the IT" where the winner is the person who's been "IT" after the longest 5 minutes.

I certainly don't know why people want to play chase with million dollar cars, but if you wanted it, then Turn 10 surely delivered it!

I do agree that the cockpit view animations didn't seem realistic with the driver just sitting there, and magically changing gears without using his hands.  Either way, its all updated and fixed, and that's the main thing.

It certainly beats holding up a release date, that's for sure.

Not all cars have this unfortunately. I've noticed a number that still have no animation and even some of the cars with animations have those that don't work properly (Ferrari Enzo: the drivers hands clip into the wheel when shifting for example).

Still, glad to see they introduced it.

The Enzo uses paddle shifters dude...

It isn't a manual gear box with a shift stick...

yea, I just noticed this, i only got the update. The driver shifts, and in some cars I noticed he doesn't bring his hand down, which leads me to assume there are flappy paddles, I jsut wasn't paying enough attention to make sure. I'll go test this on a car with flappy paddles...
